“Mom”, Sean Eddie said, “British Soccer Camp Rocked Again!” Yep that is another quote from my sonny boy Sean Eddie.  This was his second year attending the British Soccer Camp.  He had such a fantastic experience last year (you can read about it here) that he actually started playing soccer in our neighborhood soccer league.  He had got such a confidence boost with his coaches from last year having NEVER played before, that he said he was ready to play on a “real” team with his friends.  And play he did.  He had a great time playing on the district team, learning new soccer skills and more importantly learning to work as a team, as well as value of winning with grace and losing with dignity.

So when the opportunity came was presented for Sean Eddie to attend another week of British Soccer Camp, it was a total no brainer! Sign us up!

We met Ross and Sean the two coaches who were in charge of Sean Eddie’s British Soccer Camp experience.  They were super friendly and enthusiastic for being so early on a sunny Monday morning in Forest Hills.  Of course right off the bat Sean Eddie loves the way the coaches speak with their accents.  Being a super huge fan of Harry Potter, he gives me that knowing look and smile when the speak with him.

first day and ready to go!

Each day before camp started, Sean Eddie got to hang out in the club house.  There was a knock hockey table game and a couple of foosball tables which was great entertainment.

Each day started with a stretching regimen and then lots of drills.  Drills with ladders and drills without ladders.  Side steppers, karaoke, toe taps, Brazilian toe taps, rainbow kicks.  Some very exotic sounding drills if I do say so myself. Then in the afternoon scrimages galore.

When I asked Sean Eddie what his favorite things to do were he said

Sting Boxer was his favorite game where he played goalie. This game included eliminations and clashes.  His second favorite game is Circle of Doom that I won’t even try to explain, as he gave me the most complex set of rules I’ve ever heard.  What amazes me, and I told him this: Is that he can remember all these complex rules BUT I have to remind him to brush his teeth every morning?!?  How is that???  I mean come on already!! He just laughed at me. Seriously still telling him to brush his teeth and we are going into the fourth grade!

So if you have a soccer player in your house or one that has never played the game before, rest assured: British Soccer Camp is the place to be for your child.  They will have a great experience, learn new skills, improve their game and just have a great time.

We are looking forward to invited back again next year and of course playing in our fall league.
