Time flies when you are living your life!

Yep that about sums it up! It’s been quite some time since I sat down to blog.  I really can’t believe it’s mid-October- nope scratch that early December! So many wonderful events! What an amazing summer I had traveling around the world on two fantastic trips with each of my daughters.

In June, I left for the land down under to meet my daughter Kaitlyn who was doing a study aboard semester in Queensland, Austrailia, Brisbane to be exact.  When I dropped her at JFK airport it was a tough good-bye, as I knew soon a piece of my heart would be traveling by herself to the other side of the world to live out a dream and adventure of a lifetime.

Peace out Mom!

The only saving grace was that I was going to follow her out two weeks later for a fantastic eighteen day trip and this was quite a suprise as my daughter gave this gift to me as my Christmas present.  This Austrialia trip was so close to the China Homeland Adoption Tour I booked for my younger daughter’s sweet 16, that I didn’t know if I could make it work.  My boss was super accomadating and approved having more than five weeks off during the summer.  I only worked for three days between the two trips.

I knew it would be hard to leave the rest of the family behind, so I made a special suprise for each of them in terms of letters in a locked box.  So while we had technology when wi-fi was available for what’s app and facetime, Shawn, Kristen and Sean Eddie each had a letter from me each day in an envelope that was dated and specific.  This was a labor of love to be sure-but so worth while

I got home on Sunday night was off from work for two days.  I just soaked up my hubby, sonny-boy and daughter and she was VERY excited that is was almost her time to have Mom to herself and travel back to her birth country. Not wanting to miss a beat, I decided that I was going to take my son to a local amusement park so we can spend the day together-jet lag be damned.  I forgot how much that kid loves loves loves roller coasters and I guess you could say that in the past I may have taken my husband for granted in this department.

Well since it was just my sonny boy and I, we went on them over and over again.  Not something I would recommend after 24 or so hours of flying.  However the smile plastered on his face was well worth it to me.  I will admit that night I practically collapsed in my bed and slept very soundly.  Up and at’em early the next day, trecking into Manhattan to get my hair done (can’t have roots in China), then a romantic date night with my hubby.  Back to work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and then Kristen and I left early Saturday morning for China.  Talk about whirlwind.  Work passed like a blur, I felt like I bearly unpacked and then re-packed and was off!

Like I said, time flies when you are living your life.  Thanks for your patience, I promise I will get to the details and share items that are now checked off my bucket list too!  I know many of my readers followed along on my social media channels to see these trips as they unfolded.  Looking forward to sharing more of my adventures in the weeks and months to come.  Now off to make some more chocolate as Christmas is just around the corner!
