Our Elf on the Shelf is a RASCAL!

Our Elf on the Shelf is a RASCAL!  Yep that’s right our Elf on the Shelf is a rascal alrighty!  We’ve been having a grand old-time “discovering” James our Elf in places he just shouldn’t be!  Lots of Elf antics in our home this year.

My sonny boy Sean Eddie is finding James’ antics hysterical!  After initially finding James in Mommy’s chocolate, he has made appearances in all sorts of places.

James made a GRAND return!

When we couldn’t find our tree-topper angel James filled in.  Then much to my chagrin, James took my baseball from NY Yankee Fantasy Camp out of its protective case and was holding it!

James is such a rascal!!

James is such a rascal!!

Then James appeared inside my off-limits curio cabinet hanging out in my Lenox vase of all places.

Sean Eddie was in a real panic one morning when James was nowhere to be found and lo and behold he was in the bathroom, holding his tooth paste since Sean Eddie discovered his first tooth was loose.

Another morning James was discovered reading a book.  Just the night before Sean Eddie didn’t want o read a new book out loud.  After seeing James and “getting” the message, guess what no more issues reading that night!

James likes to read

One of the funniest mornings was when my fourteen year old Kristen set up our printer / copier on the floor and had James make a Butt copy and write a note on the copy of his butt!  Well one thing I have learned is that anything to do with butts and bathrooms make little boys laugh.  And Sean Eddie couldn’t believe it.  He laughed and laughed while I made a big fuss about it being inappropriate.

Butt Print!!!

I know there are some people on who find the Elf on the Shelf commercializing, a chore or just “plain stupid” as a one person told me via Facebook.  All I know is that we are having a ball.  It’s been so much fun and we will have some great memories to talk about in years to come.  The tradition of our Elf is magical because of the love of our family and this is just another great way for us to express it.

Do you have a rascal of an Elf in your house??
