With the waning days of summer, the kids got excited about having something different to do, especially on a rainy day.

Everything you need to make a cool looking plate!

There was lots of discussion about what should be drawn on the circle templates.  Good thing there were twenty five circle templates, we had a couple of do-overs.  It took quite some time to figure out what were going to be the best designs.

Then the kids finally agreed that they wanted to make their plates look like the Minions from the Despicable Me Movies.

The start of the ZOMBIE Minion!

There was one little twist, Sean Eddie wanted to make his a zombie Minion.  They took their time, using the bottom of cups to make sure the Minions’ eyes were well rounded.

They were very proud of their creations and big sister Kristen made sure that each of the plate art templates each had their names and the year-that was a good idea.  Glad she thought of it!

Then it was easy peasy to send their creations off to the Make A Plate Art Company.  I filled out a simple form, placed the templates inside the pre-printed envelope.  Then off to the post office to mail them out.

About ten days later, a package arrived at the house with their creations!  Now in our house, only the person that the mail is addressed to can open it-we take our mail very seriously, so the kids had to wait until I got home from work to dig into the box!

They were very pleased with their creations and as soon as Gramma came down for dinner, showed her what they made.
