Quality Me Time

There’s nothing like being on vacation, and there’s nothing like quality me time.  As readers already know we have a special vacation song that we sing all about it.  Well the day has finally come to get ready for my trip to Yankee Fantasy Camp.  However I took an extra day off prior to having to leave for camp so I could spend some quality me time.  I planned an awesome day for myself.  I got up early to drive my thirteen year old Kristen to school with her friend.  Came home has some breakfast with my little guy Sean Eddie and then took him to school.  Then it was off to the gym for a great workout followed by a special treat time in the steam room and sauna.  I don’t usually have time in the morning before work to enjoy these mini oases.  Then off to a deep tissue massage which I had the forethought to book the week before.

That massage was just what I needed.  Kevin had strong hands and a great touch.  Seriously, by the time he got to my legs I literally was drooling as I must have fallen asleep.  Now you know that’s great!  There’s nothing like the treatment you get at Orange Skye Spa located in Valley Stream.  I told Kathy the owner, I’d be giving them a shout out and they deserve it- I’ve been a customer since they opened.  Just wish I could get there more often!  So if you are in the neighborhood, let Kathy know that My Best of Both Worlds recommended you.

Next stop off to church to get my sponsor paperwork completed.  My God Daughter Katie asked me to be her confirmation sponsor.  Needless to say, I’m so flattered and honored to be chosen for this important sacrament.  So looking forward to this in June.

Before I knew it, it was time to pick up my sister Lina as we were heading to lunch just the two of us.  Lots of catching up to do.  It’s amazing we actually consume any food as we talk so much. She sang the vacation song with me too.  After lunch we picked up my oldest daughter Kaitlyn who is home on winter break from Cortland to get our nails done.  BTW, have to mention that Kaitlyn made the Dean’s List!! One proud Mama here!

At the nail salon, Kaitlyn said I needed to get Yankee blue on my nails.  Well I’ve never worn blue nail polish, So in a moment of vacation euphoria I decided to go crazy and get the blue for my mani/ pedi.  Then on top of that Kaitlyn suggested that I get the New York Yankee logo on my party nails.  So I decided to go for it.  The logo on one party nail and my uniform number #4 on the other.  Check out the picture below.

What a great day lots of quality me time followed by time spent with those I love!
