Christmas tradition equals chocolate

In our home, Christmas tradition equals chocolate and a lot of it.  Last year we made nearly one hundred pounds of chocolate to be specific.  While my house my not smell of freshly cut pine tree- Bah Hum Bug no Real Christmas tree for me, our home has the sweetest smell of chocolate wafting through out as soon as you open our front door.

I’ve been making chocolate in the kitchen since I was ten years old and sold my creations in a beauty pallor that was owned by my aunt and uncle.  I have molds for each and every holiday and occasion.  While this is no longer a business for profit, chocolate making is serious business in our house.  Now we make these tasty creations as gifts that delight for family, friends, co-worker, classmates, teachers, etc.

We use milk, dark and white chocolate wafers to melt into many different molds of gifts, angels, snowmen, candy canes, reindeers, and Santas of all sizes.  I’ve taken such good care of my molds that I have some of them for more than thirty years (YIKES that makes me feel old).

As the children have grown they look forward to the yearly Christmas tradition.  No matter what age they all get involved.  Even my son last year at three and a half was able to put the lollipop sticks into the molds.  This year since he’s getting good at using scissors thanks to Pre-K, he will earn the honor of cutting the ribbons to tie the bags.  Of course the girls are skilled and can do it all now, prep, dipping pretzels, pouring molds, decorating, bagging you name it.

Everything tastes better with chocolate made with love.
